Salish Seaside Garden Reclamation
Mass planting, Irrigation installation, Turf Removal and Water Feature
I first met this lovely family as they prepared for a wedding they were to host in the Summer of 2020. I began planting the next day and have been visiting ever since.
This garden, as any well-loved garden does, is an evolving process. The client is a plant collector and a great deal of what we do is curate, transplant and edit. Many of these large planting zones were turf in 2020, before we decided to transform them using stone and sheet mulching into usable planting areas.
I’ve installed drip irrigation zones throughout the vast gardens, all on timers, and initially dressed them with bark to help inhibit the turf from returning, though we are soon to dress them with a more soil-building wood mulch.
The client had a 50 gallon basin and a pump with which I installed a small waterfall feature at the base of their stairs near the most utilized deck area. There, they’ll enjoy it’s sound and ecosystem from nearby.
Ben has been our savior, he did an excellent job preparing our property to host our daughter's wedding on short notice. He has done several more projects since then and we enjoy working with him.
